Our Story
SwimTec Academy was founded in 2009 with a simple mission: to make swimming accessible and enjoyable for everyone in Kenya. What started as a small swimming school in Nairobi has grown into one of East Africa's most respected swimming academies.
Our founder, Coach Sam, a former national swimmer, recognized the need for professional swimming education that goes beyond basic lessons. He envisioned a place where swimmers of all ages and abilities could develop their skills in a supportive, technology-enhanced environment.
Today, we operate multiple training facilities across Kenya, serving thousands of swimmers from beginners learning water safety to competitive athletes preparing for national and international competitions.
In 2023, we embraced AI technology to enhance our coaching capabilities, allowing us to provide personalized training plans, video analysis, and real-time feedback to every swimmer in our program.

Head Coach & Founder
Former national swimmer with 20 years of coaching experience. Coach Sam founded SwimTec to bring world-class swimming education to Kenya.
Coach Sarah Wanjiku
Senior Swimming Instructor
Specialized in teaching beginners and young swimmers. Sarah has helped over 1,000 children learn to swim safely.
Coach James Omondi
Competition Coach
Focused on competitive swimming and technique refinement. James has trained multiple national champions.
Coach Grace Akinyi
Aqua Fitness Specialist
Expert in aquatic fitness and rehabilitation swimming. Grace brings therapeutic swimming to all ages.
